My Backyard Vegetable Garden Endeavor: Part 3
I finally got the first raised bed planted outside. Some of my seedlings seemed a bit small yet to be planted outside, others were huge. I have another raised bed that I will try to get planted next weekend. This bed has green beans, carrots, broccoli, zuchini, green onions, spanish onions, roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and green peppers. Seems way too many plants for such a small bed but that is what the square foot garden info said I could plant, so we will see how it does. I also hope it doesn't go down to freezing next week. Lows may be in the upper 30's according to the weather report.

Sniff. Sniff. I won't see dirt two more months. I won't be able to put anything IN that dirt for another 3 months. *sigh*
My whining aside, it looks awesome.
This is wrong on soooo many levels since we are buried under 3 feet of snow still.
I may try to dig my way to the shed and gather up my starting trays. Hahaha, no! That ain't happening this week. I'll just keep checking back to watch your progress.
Looks good.

We're still in winter here but it's starting to feel warmer. We went to Home Depot today and bought bags of compost and soil so we can start working on our garden soon.
And I have cabbage and chard that survived under the snow. The cabbage (small) is under a plastic cover. The chard was not. I saw a bunny in the raised bed last week and the chard leaves that survived the snow did not survive the bunny. But maybe it will put out more leaves.
I need to plan when to plant seeds under the grow-light. I want seedlings!
